South Sudan Lightning Injury Reports
In 2011, Sudan formally split into two countries, Sudan and South Sudan, due to decades of conflicts. Even before 2011, news reports sometimes refer to a location as being in South Sudan. We have done our best to determine where lightning incidents have occurred and place them in the correct geographic area.
Conflicts continue to rage, so few reports come from this area. We suspect many more occur here due to the location near the equator and the weather patterns in this area.
