Atoroma Primary School, Katawki District, east central Uganda - awaiting donor support
Atoroma Primary School is a large public school with nearly 2000 students (200 of them boarders). It has been hit by lightning before on a building that they were told was 'protected' under governments standards at the time. See the green circle around the single lightning air terminal/rod on building X - many would be needed to properly protect a building this long. To the government's credit, the requirements have been improved but may not be enforced, particularly at the local level for primary schools.
Please donate what you can to help us design, purchase materials and install a lightning protection system that will properly protect these 2000 students and staff before their school is hit again by lightning!
